The underlying force behind the Group’s success is a vision to achieve and uphold sustainability with its business. With a Masters of Science from University of Ottawa, Canada, and as a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, the late Dato’ Lim Geok Bak founded LGB Group in 1978. Starting out as a construction based company before the gradual shift into water infrastructure expertise, LGB Group was the first to introduce Malaysia’s very first interstate fast-track water transfer scheme 25 years ago. LGB Group stepped in to provide relief by transferring water from Sungai Muar to the dried-up reservoir in Melaka.
In the process of ensuring clean and safe water for end users across the country, LGB has raised the bar for water infrastructure service providers nationwide, and has gained recognition on a national level for its resounding efforts. In a bid to realise the vision that the late Dato’ Lim Geok Bak had for LGB, the Group expanded its reach into more sustainable businesses, teaming up with partners from around the world for their knowledge and expertise, leading to the benchmark that it has built today.
