One of our keystone projects and proudest achievements in the area was fast-tracking the Sg. Muar-Melaka’s raw water transfer scheme. Through a short amount of time taken to complete the project, the water crisis in Melaka was alleviated when the Durian Tunggal Reservoir went dry due to a prolonged drought. Another keystone project is the construction of the 950 MLD (million litres per day) Sungai Selangor Water Supply Scheme Phase 1 (SSP1 Scheme) in 1993. This project was Malaysia’s largest water supply project at its time and is today still operated and managed by our water treatment division. This reflects how thoughtful construction can enhance lives and uplift communities, underscoring our unwavering commitment to exceeding expectations and making a meaningful impact.

Mengkuang Dam Expansion Project, Penang

This completed project involved the construction of an 8-million-cubic-meter earthfill dam with a water storage capacity of 78 million cubic meters, complemented by a 500-meter-long, 2.7-meter-diameter draw-off tunnel and a draw-off structure for efficient water management. It includes a 1.8-meter-diameter raw water pipeline and ancillary works to ensure reliable water transfer. Leveraging on our expertise in earthfill dam construction, the project was designed to meet high standards of durability, efficiency, and environmental sustainability, providing a robust solution for water storage and distribution system that serves the entire community.

Proposed Development of Sg. Rasau Water Treatment Plant and Water Supply Scheme (Phase 1), Selangor Darul Ehsan Package 2

This ongoing project involves the design and construction of a treated water pumping station, twin 2100mm diameter mild steel pumping main connecting to the existing Bukit Lipat Kajang Reservoir, and a 1500mm diameter mild steel falling main to the existing distribution system. Designed to handle a capacity of 700 MLD (million litres per day), the facility will feature cutting-edge systems to ensure efficient water delivery and reliability.

Our scope of work encompasses the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of the treated water pumping system and station, ensuring optimal performance and long-term sustainability. This project highlights our commitment to enhancing water distribution systems in supporting growing community needs, all while maintaining high standards of efficiency and innovation.

Proposed Development of Sg. Rasau Water Treatment Plant and Water Supply Scheme (Phase 1), Selangor Darul Ehsan Package 3

This ongoing project entails the design and construction of the new Bukit Lipat Kajang Booster Station, service reservoirs, and associated works. This includes a 23 ML balancing reservoir, 450 MLD booster pumping station, a 45 ML high-level reservoir, and an advanced distribution system.

Our extensive scope encompasses the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of the booster pumping system, service reservoirs, and distribution pipelines to ensure efficient water distribution and enhanced service reliability for the health and wellbeing of the greater community.

Marang Bridge, Terengganu

The ongoing design and construction of the multi-span bridge with a total length of 900m crossing Sungai Marang in Terengganu will enhance connectivity and traffic flow along route FT003, linking Marang to Kuala Terengganu, as well as allowing larger Zone C Fishing Vessels to navigate through safely under this upgraded bridge. This project also includes upgrading the existing road network to ensure seamless integration and improved accessibility. Beyond reducing congestion and travel times, the bridge is also envisioned to boost the socioeconomic status of Marang town by promoting trade, tourism, and local business growth, contributing to the region's sustainable development.

International experience

We are also involved in managing construction works overseas. LGB Engineering and Taliworks Construction managed the upgrading and construction of our own wastewater treatment plants in Yinchuan and Guanghan in People’s Republic of China under the “Transfer–Operate–Transfer" (TOT) and “Build–Operate–Transfer" (BOT) concessions, respectively.
